MIGLYOL 840 is a propylene glycol diester of saturated plant fatty acids with chain lengths of C8 and C10. Therefore it has excellent emollient properties. It is very pure because of its carefully selected raw materials.

What is Miglyol 840 used for?
It shows excellent penetration-promoting and skin-smoothing properties. It provides good solubility characteristics and do not inhibits skin-respiration. It is used in day creams, body lotions, sun protection products, decorative cosmetics, baby care and wet wipe cleansing lotions.

What is Miglyol oil benefits?

It’s a propylene glycol diester of caprylic and capric acids, can improve the skin permeation of transdermal drugs. When combined with ethanol, It can increase the solubility of drugs and improve their skin permeation rate. In one study, four human volunteers wore patches containing a binary vehicle of ethanol and Miglyol 840 for 24 hours and did not experience local irritation.

What are the side effects of miglyol oil?
Administration of Miglyol 812 up to 2 mL/kg/day for 6 weeks. Decrease activity, loss of appetite and respiratory signs observed at 2 mL/kg/day. At 2 mL/kg/day, increased triglycerides and cholesterol levels were observed. A chronic bronchiolo-alveolar inflammation observed in the lung at 2 mL/kg/day.
