Nicotinamide powder cncsbio bulk Description
What is nicotinamide?
Nicotinamide powder, also known as niacinamide or nicotinic acid amide, is the water-soluble, active form of vitamin B3. It has been increasingly studied for many different indications in the field of dermatology.Oral nicotinamide is available as 20–30 mg in multivitamin combinations, and on its own as inexpensive 500-mg tablets. It has also been incorporated in many topical agents including sunscreens and cosmetic agents.
The broad clinical effects of nicotinamide may be explained by its role as:A cellular energy precursorA modulator of inflammatory cytokinesAn inhibitor of the nuclear enzyme poly(adenosine diphosphate-ribose [ADP]) polymerase [PARP], which plays a significant role in DNA repair, maintenance of genomic stability, and cellular response to injuryincluding inflammation and apoptosis (cell death).
Does it remove dark spots?
Nicotinamide is dermatologist-approved for brightening skin tone. Some research suggests skin care formulas with 5% niacinamide can also help lighten dark spots. In one small study, a combination of skin brighteners including retinol and it reduced dark spots and fine lines.
Is vitamin C or niacinamide better for dark spots?
Both ingredients can fade hyperpigmentation and increase collagen production. Vitamin C (depending on the percentage) can be more harsh for sensitive skin types. Or, you might want to use it if you have acne-prone skin, and leverage Vitamin C for fading post-acne marks and dark spots.
Is 10% niacinamide too much?
For general skin tone correction, a niacinamide concentration between 4-5% is often effective and well-tolerated by most individuals. For those looking to tackle more pronounced hyperpigmentation, a higher concentration of 10% may be beneficial, though it’s important to monitor the skin for any signs of irritation.
