পডোফাইলাম রজন কি?

পডোফাইলাম রজন (পোডোফিলাম হেক্সান্ড্রাম) একটি উদ্ভিদ। পাকা ফল ছাড়া পুরো গাছটাই বিষাক্ত। উদ্ভিদের রজন (পডোফিলিন) ত্বকে ব্যবহার করা হয়। দ পডোফিলাম রজন উদ্ভিদ রাইজোম (মূল) থেকে আসে। এতে রয়েছে অ্যান্টিঅক্সিডেন্ট এবং বিষাক্ত রাসায়নিক।

পডোফিলাম কিসের জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়?
Podophyllum resin uses to remove benign (not cancer) growths, such as certain kinds of warts. It works by destroying the tissue of the growth. A few hours after podophyllum is applied to a wart, the wart becomes blanched (loses all color). In 24 to 48 hours, the medicine causes death of the tissue.

What is the active ingredient in Podophyllum resin?
Podophyllin is a resin extracted from the roots of Podophyllum peltatum (American mandrake) and Podophyllum emodi, which contains numerous compounds, amongst which is podophyllin (as well as the drug [podophyllotoxin]). Podophyllin is the principal active component.

Is podophyllum resin toxic?
Podophyllin resin for humans has been estimated to be 0.3 g to 0.6 g, or as little as one-half teaspoon of 25% podophyllin resin in benzoin tincture. There is a case report of podophyllin toxicity in a child aged 2 years in western literature.

Can I use podophyllin every day?
Apply to warts twice daily for 3 consecutive days. If required, this treatment can be repeated every week, for a maximum of 5 successive weeks, until the wart is gone.

Apply 1 drop at a time, allowing time for drying between drops, until the affected area is covered. After podophyllum is applied, allow it to remain on the affected area for 1 to 6 hours as directed by your doctor. Then, remove the medicine by thoroughly washing the affected area with soap and water.

How to use podophyllum resin 25%?
Thoroughly cleanse affected area. Use supplied applicator to apply podophyllum resin sparingly to lesion. Avoid contact with healthy tissue. Allow to dry thoroughly.
